WHAT IS IT AND HOW DOES IT WORK. The security deposit is temporarily blocked on your payment card. It is not charged if the vehicle is returned in perfect condition.
What is the Security Deposit?
The security deposit is a sum of money temporarily blocked on your credit card at the time of vehicle pickup. It is not an actual charge, but a guarantee against possible damage that the vehicle might sustain during the rental.
The deposit is released in the hours following the close of the contract, provided the vehicle is in perfect condition (no new damage, fuel at appropriate level, clean interior).
You can significantly reduce the security deposit by choosing SMART PLUS insurance coverage, which includes premium protection against damage and accidents. With SMART PLUS, the deposit drops from €1,300-1,700 to just €300-500!

REFUND OF THE DEPOSIT
How it works
1. Return
Return the minivan at the agreed time. Our team inspects the vehicle and verifies its condition.
2. Inspection
If the minivan is in perfect condition, we will confirm that the deposit will be released in the hours following contract closure.
3. Release
The deposit amount is automatically unblocked on your credit card. It appears as a transaction reversal.
Please note
If the minivan is returned with significant damage (deep scratches, dents, broken headlights, etc.), part of the deposit may be used to cover repair costs, up to a maximum of your insurance excess (€300-500 with SMART PLUS, €2,200-2,600 without). We will communicate the details within 48 hours of return.
